Manuwarra Red Dog Highway

Onsite Cabins

Onsite Pilbara recently provided a range of specialist portable units to the Karratha-Tom Price Road upgrade which has been officially named the Manuwarra Red Dog Highway.

At a ceremony in September 2020, the WA Government announced the new name as it officially opened the completed third stage of the $310 million project. Manuwarra translates as “heaps or masses” and is the Yindjibarndi name for the place known as Red Dog Gorge, inside Millstream Chichester National Park. The ceremony was attended by Premier Mark McGowan and Transport Minister Rita Saffioti as well as Yindjibarndi representatives. The project, decades in the making, is funded by the Federal and State Governments.

The Onsite Karratha Portables team working closely with the Principal Contractor to deliver a high-quality installation of the facilities. Our Pilbara teams have a long-standing reputation for delivering these types of projects in the region. This coupled with the support and expertise we offered led to our success in securing this project.

Given the remote location, the customer was impressed by our ability to provide an inclusive range of portable buildings and power generation, including transport, installation, and logistics planning.

The Onsite installers, Red Rock Engineering, provided a high-quality installation and showed outstanding commitment to detail. The customer later commented on the exceptional presentation of the buildings, which were shown by Pilbara ABC during their coverage of the ceremony. The 48km stage three section of road will improve access to the national park and Karijini National Park. Work to seal the fourth and final stage of the road will begin in 2022.

Onsite are proud to be a national rental equipment supplier in all parts of the country. Please speak to your local branch today on 13 40 40 to find out more about our extensive range of portable buildings, power generation and access equipment.
